J.C. is an American singer and guitarist who graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Veteran of the New York blues scene, J.C. has performed with Queen Esther Marrow, the Harlem Gospel Singers, New Orleans legend Earl King, Cassandra Wilson, The Holmes Brothers, Ben E. King and Harry Belafonte and has toured with distinguished bass player and vocalist Richard Bona.
J.C. offers a tribute to motown music which for him is" a homage to the music I have loved and still love to play.”
J.C. has also mastered a variety of music styles like jazz, rock, gospel, blues, world music, oldies and pop.
J.C. is available solo (Guitar & Vocals), duo, with his trio and with Brooklyn Bridge.

In his own words...."as a child.The Funk Brothers have not only influenced but got me started on my musical journey . After watching "Standing in the Shadows" of Motown a few years ago, I realized even more how important these musicians and their artistry were to me. This tribute to Motown is not about following the latest trend but rather a homage to the music I have loved and still love to play.
The musicians I have chosen to bring into this project share this love of tradition of Motown."
A bit about J.C.....
The bandleader is a 10 year veteran of the tough NYC blues scene.
He played with New Orleans legend, the late Earl King, the Holmes Brothers, and Ben E. King. He openned for Johnny Copeland, Walter “Wolfman” Washington and Little Feet. His versatility enabled him to work with Harry Belafonte, Manu Dibango and Cassandra Wilson.
He worked with the Harlem Gospel Singers and Queen Esther Marrow for 5 years as guitarist, arranger, and musical supervisor.
He last toured as guitarist with bass and vocal virtuoso Richard Bona.
The multi-facetted, multi-cultural guitarist´s heart belongs to the Blues.
In fact, JC describes himself as “a Bluesman who can play many different modern styles of music.”
His influences include T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, the three Kings, BB, Albert and Freddie as well as Albert Collins, Clarence “Gatemouth “ Brown and Robert Cray.
He considers the late Earl King and the Holmes Brothers his true mentors.
Coming from a large Cameroonian family with various musical tastes, JC was exposed to all types of music while growing up in New York City.
Jazz, Rock, Gospel, Oldies, Pop, Classical and World music were the daily regimen.
Listening to everything from Miles Davis, Manu Dibango, Mahalia Jackson Stevie Wonder, the Platters to the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
JC picked up the guitar in his early teens, was mostly self-taught until he went to and graduated from Berklee College of Music.
The Blues has always been a constant in JC´s professional musical life.
As he puts it:”The Blues has helped me get through every single door!”
